ParkTrent real estate property management in Canberra has made me want to buy a house just so I never have to deal with real estate agents/property managers again. My partner and I have been renting a property through them for over two years and they are becoming more and more unprofessional. We don't have a dedicated contact person/property manager at ParkTrent who looks after us and the property. We never know who is who and the staff seem to come and go. It seems like no one knows what they are doing over there and we don't know who to talk to about certain issues (every time we call someone different answers to phone) they don't seem to communicate with each other in their own office either. We had to wait almost two months in winter for them to organise to fix our broken heater. The heater was finally replaced as winter ended. Multiple problems with the brand new house had to be fixed and this was not done in a timely matter. It involved a lot of chasing up and time off work on our part to meet contractors etc at the house. We are contacted by a random person at ParkTrent frequently to tell us we haven't paid our water bill when indeed we have so this involves me having to screen shot the internet banking transaction and email them to prove it was paid and that they just didn't look in their account properly, on multiple occasions! Our house is always spotless and I consider us ideal tenants yet ParkTrent make you feel like anything but. Inspection reports complain about small details such as dust in the sliding door frame or a spot in the shower. I would love to see their houses which I am sure are nowhere near as well kept as ours! A rude man I've never heard of from the company emailed telling us that there was supposed to be a periodic inspection that day when we did not receive notice of any sort. He then proceeded to be difficult in finding a suitable time for the inspection (we elect to be home for the inspections as from previous experience we don't trust the 19 year old girls who are sent to our house to do inspections while we're at work). We were told that he could only come between 9.30am and 11.30am on a weekday for the inspection. Perhaps he expects people to take time off work to drive half an hour back home to be present and then go back to work afterward just to accommodate their inflexible inspection schedule which doesn't take the tenants into account. They also took almost a month to send us the new lease for signature after the lease ran out. I don't think they actually have any sort of administrative system in place or admin staff. There are a lot of examples and occasions I could rant about but the fact is, I've rented houses through other real-estate agencies who were excellent, professional property managers but ParkTrent has to be the worst! We even tried to convince the house owners to switch estate agents when the lease ends but they seem to prefer sticking with the cheap and nasty property managers.

I found Park Trent to be very friendly and helpful when it came to helping me find a rental property. I would reccommend them to anyone looking to find a home.
