Main course - half serve of pasta with chicken and sweet potato was great. Setting lovely and great for a get together with friends. Dessert was awful. Menu on web site has not been updated. They now have a pastry chef who makes sweet, stodgy cakey desserts only. Wanted a fruit style dessert (apple crumble) but now not available. Web menu had baked cheesecake. The berry cheesecake was not baked and had so much gelatine in it - tasted very rubbery. Loved the base with pistachio nuts. Would go again but would skip dessert. Advise to restaurant - UPDATE ALL YOUR MENUS ON WEB

I had high hopes and the place seemed to be buzzing. There was a table with 12 of us, and the waitress seemed really pleasant. We ordered coffees and they took a while to come out. I heard they had some of the best coffees in town so I was looking forward to it.When mine did, it was almost undrinkable, but I've never been one to make a scene, and everybody else's seemed to be fine so I might have just got a bad batch. I ordered the famous omelette (meat lovers) and when it came out it was a lot more like a quiche than an omelette. It was definitely sizable, and filled with heaps of things, but it seemed that they just put a big pile of stuff in a pan, poured the egg mixture on it and cooked it. I only finished about half, and didn't want the other half in a take away container. I wont be ordering the omelette again. It seemed like a very hit and miss place.

Went to Vagelis in Racecourse road Ascot last night with my 2 yo daughter while my wife was at an event nearby. The waitress went out of her way to look after my little girls needs (she was rather tired!!) and I enjoyed an absolutely fabulous smoked salmon spaghetti and a glass of Malborough Sav Blanc. It's a nice relaxed environment, friendly service, and excellent food. Thanks guys.

We had a booking here for 6:30pm. Arrived at 6:35pm, slightly abashed at our late presence. After waiting at the entrance for a few minutes without being noticed, we were eventually seated by a chubby waitress. The seats were in poor repair and there was cutlery on the ground under our table. A few minutes later, a waitress came by and asked if we wanted to order any drinks before our meals. At this point we asked for a DRINKS MENU..... This was provided along with the food menu's, though one of us was given a lunch menu instead of a dinner menu. Wonderful. 25 minutes later, no one had taken our orders and we stood up and left, walking down the street to the Hamilton Hotel instead. That place was great and the waitresses weren't nearly as fat.

Disappointed. We had started coming here regularly for breakfast and thought the price and quality was good, however today we were charged for substituting the tomato for mushrooms (which we haven't been previously) and didn't tell us the charge for gluten free bread. It cost us an extra 50% for the gf bread and mushrooms on top of our normal bill. We will not be going here again and will tell others about our experience.
