Great place a real party atmosphere good location 2 minutes walk to central station i would recommend bringing your own pillow as the pillow provided is very thin not very comfortable on its own but everybody is friendly easy to make new friends only other downside is frequent sirens because of the police station under central station which you hear a lot of when saying on the east/pitt st side the key card not working can be frustrating when it happens every single day but its not always like that the kitchen has far too little things to cook with and is way too small for the amount of people it can house the washing machines are quite expensive it can add up to $16 if you have a lot of clothes needing washing and drying and the dryer is no good for thick towels and jumpers they come out damp from the dryer and with the scaffolding blocking the sunlight theres no way to dry them out other than spending another $4 the cafe is great a large selection of food all day the coffee is very good and cheap for sydney but avoid the beer and overpriced cocktails

This hostel is a really nice hostel. The staff are friendly and really helpful - with free advice on how to find a job and about travelling around Australia, they really help you find your bearings when you arrive in Australia. There are lots of activities which you can get involved in to meet people and explore the city. The rooms and bathrooms are really clean. The kitchen is nice, the only problem is there aren't enough pots, pans and cups to go around so you have to plan when you want to cook to be quiet times so that you can get a pot. Wake up is an expensive hostel but I think that it is worth it because of the cleanliness levels and the fact that it is so well set up.

It was ok but I expected more for that price. The rooms were very small and had no air conditioning (!!!). Also we didnt had a window to open so there wasnt a way to let some fresh air in. The elevator was annoying. It didnt worked every second time wich got me really angry. I would recommend bounce hostel more. its nearly at the same location and you get so much more for youre money.

I love wake up, great people, great clean accommodations, funky decor, amazing restaurant. Best hostel you can stay at in Sydney, only downside is it's a little pricey on a backpacker's budget.
