Yim Yam - Yarraville

DO NOT GO HERE !!!! Such average food and i am no food critic !!! We got takeaway 3 dishes and some curry puffs for $47 and we only got half serves anyway..... It did not even dil up 2 people. I HATE being ripped off - it has not really happened before but going to Yim Yam..... it did ... :( Not happy Yim Yam !!!

We ordered take away from Yim Yam. It was just after 5pm and I was told the delivery man didn't start until 6pm and then it would be 30-45 minutes after that that we would receive our order, so I opted to pick up instead. I was told the meal would be 20-25 minutes so we got there about half an hour after our order was placed. We were ignored completely. When I went to the counter and asked to pay (over half an hour after arrival), I asked how long the meal would be. I was told 2 minutes as they were just finishing the fish cakes. At 6.20pm I watched the delivery man take his first delivery and I started getting quite annoyed. At this point, the lady at the front counter came to me and said there were no fish cakes, they've had to make them from scratch, that is why it was taking so long. There was no apology at all and no explanation as to why I wasn't told this earlier. I told them to forget the fish cakes and we'd take the rest. The food was average (I love the food normally), and I'll not go back - eat in or take away. From the time of order, to time of sitting down to eat, it was almost 1.5 hours.

The meal I got was insanely hot! I knew that food from Thailand could be hot, but the meal I had ordered the first time I had been there had been extremely mild. There was nothing to indicate on the menu how hot it would be and when I told the staff member she seemed to care but didn't seem inclined to do anything about it.

After recently moving to Sunshine we were in desperate search of a great Thai take away restaurant and we have certainly found it! Absolutely lovely food that is fresh and delicious! I highly recommend the coconut salad and vegetarian curry puffs as an entrée....

Great value for money, almost always great food but can be occassionally not up to their usual high standard possibly because the head chef is having a night off ( or an off night) . The stir fry chicken and cashew and any of the curries are usually spot on...always really busy so dont expect great service, having said that the staff are all very polite and friendly.
